24X7 power supply to further hasten pace of progress in state : CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that all districts in the state will start receiving 24X7 power supply by June. This will further hasten pace of development in the state. Shri Chouhan launched Atal Jyoti Abhiyan for 24X7 power supply in Khargone district today. School Education Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis, Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and MLA Shri Balkrishna Patidar were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan announced Rs. 2 lakh prize each on behalf of the State Government to Ku. Srishti and Ku. Poonam, who have topped class XII and class X exams’ merit lists, respectively.
Referring to efforts to make agriculture profitable, Shri Chouhan stressed the need for expanding irrigation facilities. He expressed concern on depleting groundwater level. The Chief Minister laid emphasis on promoting drip irrigation. On the occasion, the Chief Minister was presented a cheque of Rs. 42 lakh 71 thousand 400 on behalf of District Cooperative Central Bank. Shri Chouhan also felicitated Ku. Preeti Agrawal, who has brought laurels to Nimar region by securing 566th rank in Civil Services Exams-2012 and Shivani, who has played in Indian hockey team thrice.
Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that Khargone is 23rd district to have facility of 24X7 power supply. Shri Shukla said that power generation in the state will increase further in the state and the government will supply adequate power.
A sum of Rs. 141 crore 25 lakh has been spent on Atal Jyoti Abhiyan in Khargone district. In the district, 266 feeders have been separated benefiting 1167 villages.
