24 hours power supply by the year 2013
BHOPAL (MPINFO): Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the resolve of 24-hour power supply to every house in the rural and urban areas of the state will be realised in the year 2013.
The State Government has invested a sum of Rs. 12 thousand crore for this purpose. CM was addressing officers during a review meeting of the Energy Department at the Academy of Administration. Minister of State for Energy Rajendra Shukla was also present at the meeting.
Chouhan said that the economic condition of the state’s rural areas will improve due to continuous supply of quality power.
Several types of small and cottage industries will be started with the availability of power round the clock. The youths will get employment in them.
He asked the officers to undertake feeder separation work after chalking out advance and detailed plans and attach top priority to it. Supply of quality power will also increase the revenue on the other hand.
Strict action should be taken for recovery of dues against major defaulters. Percentage of transmission losses should be brought down. Commendable work has been done in Nepanagar and Burhanpur. Officers should chalk out advance strategies for replacement of non-functional transformers and all the electricity-related works should be completed within the prescribed time-limit.
He asked the officers to keep the target before them that every village of the state is illuminated with the light of development. Whatever is the best in the world should be implemented in the state. He said that failure to complete works in time limit will not be tolerated.
Secretary Energy Mohammad Sulaiman informed that works are being carried out in a planned manner in the power distribution sector, minimising technical and commercial losses and increasing revenue realisation in the state. All the Superintending Engineers of the Energy Department attended the meeting.
