12 percent growth rate been targeted in 12th Five year plan

BHOPAL (MPINFO): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh has achieved a record growth rate of 10.6 during the 11th Five-Year Plan. Now we aimed to achieve 12 percent growth rate during the 12th Five-Year Plan.

Cooperation of every section of society is needed. Chouhan was addressing a meeting of Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industries. Agriculture Minister Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria and Health Minister Narottam Mishra were also present on the occasion.

CM said that four new industrial areas are being established in the state. A provision of Rs. 255 crore has been made for it. Additional irrigation potential of 7 lakh hectares has been created this year.

MP has emerged as third top state in wheat production after Punjab and Haryana. Union Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee has also counted Madhya Pradesh among three to four pioneer states in the country in respect of development.

The Chief Minister said Private sector should also come forward to make agriculture a profitable occupation. There are ample opportunities in Madhya Pradesh in the agriculture sector. Power will be made available 24 hours in villages and towns from the year 2013. It will accelerate the pace of industrialization in these areas.

Agriculture Minister Dr. Kusmaria said that Agriculture Growth Rate will be enhanced upto 10 percent in the years to come. At present this rate is 9 percent. He called upon industrialists to help in the marketing of bio-farming products.

Federation President Ramesh Chandra Agrawal said that better climate has developed for capital investment in the state during the last four to five years. He said that an expert panel should be constituted and regular meetings should be held in connection with industries, power, agriculture and taxation so that problems related to them can be solved. He said that the government should avail the benefit of senior entrepreneurs’ experiences. Industrialists representing from various regions also gave their suggestions at the meeting.
