Biswal Submits Report on T20 Debacle; Cites Fitness, Disciplinary Reasons

Indian team manager at the Twenty20 World Cup Ranjib Biswal has submitted his report to the BCCI on team’s dismal performance in the West Indies and underlined fitness and disciplinary reasons for this, said media reports.

The managers said that he made some recommendations to the Board in his report on the trip, reports said.

“I have submitted the report to the BCCI about the T20 World Cup in the West Indies. The BCCI is looking at the report and they will get back to you,” Biswal was quoted as saying after spending close to one and a half hour and the BCCI headquarters today.

“There are certain issues which I have recommended to the BCCI and I hope the Board knows how to react to that and I hope, the Board reacts to that,” he was quoted as saying.

Citing sources, reports said that the issues Biswal mentioned were fitness, discipline and susceptibility to short-pitched bowling, which was thoroughly exposed on the bouncy Caribbean tracks.

“Biswal’s report deals with all the issues that happened in the West Indies. The report has suggestions about the need to play more on bouncy wickets, issues relating to discipline and fitness of the players are also there,” the source was quoted as saying.

However, he again refuted reports regarding Indian cricketers being involved in a bar brawl in the West Indies after crashing out of the World Cup, reports said.

“That incident never took place. It was just a verbal talk and there is nothing substantial to that. There was an argument because the boys, who went there (to the pub) for dinner, were harassed by some Indian fans. There is nothing much about it,” he was quoted as saying.
