Deendayal Pregnant Woman Check-up and Treatment Scheme for forests area -Forest minister

Bhopal. Forests, Planning, Economic and Statistics Minister Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar said that forests dweller families are not isolated from the forests. It is responsibility of forests department to take care of their health along with forests. Considering this, State Government has introduced Deendayal Pregnant Woman Check-up and Treatment Scheme. Under the scheme, proper treatment is being provided to pregnant women of families living in remote forests areas by best doctors in block level camps. He said that free delivery arrangement will be made for pregnant women in high risk cases in bigger hospitals. Dr Shejwar was speaking pregnant woman free investigation and treatment service camps in Shahpur and Betulbazar of Betul district.

The camps were organised in ten blocks of district on the occasion of birthday of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan under Pt Deendayal Upadhyay birth centenary. Member of Parliament Smt Jyoti Dhurve, District Panchayat President Shri Surajlal Jawarkar, State Woman Commission Member Smt Ganga Uaike, MLA Shri Hemant Khandelwal and Shri Mangal Singh Dhruve were present.

Dr Shejwar said that pregnant women will be sent to bigger hospital with the help of forests department in risk taking cases and their treatment will be ensured. He told pregnant women present there that they should take full care of doctors suggest during medical investigation. Also, take full dosage of medicine at proper time. He said that fixed three more investigation of pregnant women will be carried out in the camps in coming days.

‘Godbharai’ of pregnant women

The ritual of ‘Godbharai’ was held by the guests in the camp with offering jaggery and coconut to ten women in Shahpur and 25 pregnant women in Betul Bazaar. Medical practitioners of Bhopal and Hoshangabad, Dr. Kirti Dale, Dr. Madhavi Chandra, Dr. Anupama Dubey and Dr. Sunita Kavale were given appreciation letter.

3934 pregnant women undertaken medical check-up

According to information from health department, total 3934 pregnant women were undertaken medical investigation in the camps. These included 317 in Shahpur, 314 in Aathner, 496 in Multai, 410 in Amla, 276 in Chicholi, 402 in Ghodadongri, 327 in Sehra Betul bazar, 475 in Bhainsdhehi, 344 in Bhimpur and 105 pregnant women in Betul urban area.

Public help lauded

Forests Minister Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar appreciated 11 bus services availed by MLA Shri Hemant Khandelwal and donation given by other persons in the Betul Bazaar camp.
