SCO Meeting: Russia’s President Putin thanked PM Modi, said- SCO’s priority should be to end terror

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) met on Tuesday. In this meeting, Prime Minister Modi, President of China Xi Jinping, heads of Pakistan, Iran, Russia and Central Asian countries were connected through video conferencing. In his address in this meeting, PM Modi raised the issue of unitedly fighting terrorism and helping Afghanistan. Russian President Putin also praised India’s stand and spoke of support.

At the SCO meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he thanks Prime Minister Modi for organizing the summit. Russia supports New Delhi’s stand on international issues as it gives an integrated approach. Putin said that we will continue to strengthen relations with SCO member countries. Putin said that the main issue of the SCO meeting is also the current situation in Afghanistan. The situation in Afghanistan is not very good. The priority of the SCO countries is the fight against terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.

PM Modi said these things in his address
In his address at the SCO meeting, Prime Minister Modi said that today the world is grappling with controversies, tensions and the effects of the Corona pandemic. Along with this, the problem of food, fuel and fertilizer is also a big challenge before the world. PM Modi said that we need to think together as a group. The Prime Minister also called for a united fight against terrorism. The Prime Minister said that terrorism has become a threat to regional and global peace and now there is a need to take decisive steps against it. PM Modi said that cross-border terrorism is also a part of the policy of some countries. SCO countries should criticize such countries. We need to fight terrorism, in whatever form it may be.

Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized on economic cooperation in his address. Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif appealed for humanitarian help to Afghanistan. India is chairing the G20. Will host the G20 summit in New Delhi in September, which is likely to be attended by Russian President Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
