Govt. call centre receives 26 lakh calls
Bhopal. The call centre set up at Bhopal for registering people’s complaints and disseminating information about the government’s schemes and programmes has received 27 lakh 7 thousand calls so far. Of these, one lakh 3 thousand calls related to complaints redressal and rest for information. Of the received complaints through calls, 91 thousand 454 have been redressed.
It has been decided at the government level that regular review of call centre project will be held at monthly videoconferencing chaired by the Chief Secretary.
The call centre was set up in September 2008. Complaint can be registered from anywhere the toll-free number of the call centre and information about government’s schemes can also be obtained.
The capacity of Bhopal-based call centre is of 45 seats. The Centre functions daily from 7 am to 11 pm. URL of its website is www.telesamadhan.mp.gov.in. Free of cost call can be dialed to toll-free numbers 155343 and 1800-233-5343 from any telephone service provider company.
At present, the centre is providing information about 325 services of 20 departments/offices of the State Government. Selected officers of concerning departments have been made competent authorities for effective redressal of complaints received at the call centre. Time-limit for redressal of complaints is fixed for every level. Complete details about complaints registered at the call centre remain available om the website.
All the departments linked with call centre project have been asked to appoint departmental-level nodal officers. The departments have been asked to redress complaints at their respective levels as far as possible. An application should be redressed within the time-limit even if it reaches fourth level. The collectors have been asked to appoint a state administrative service officer as nodal officer for entire district. They have been instructed to redress complaints at the first or second level as far as possible. A complaint should be redressed with time-limit if it reaches the third and fourth levels.
