An year of achievements in IT sector for Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: The year gone by was marked by creditable achievements in Information Technology (IT) sector in Madhya Pradesh. It witnessed the dedication of Rs. 150 crore Crystal IT Park at Indore and the IT Park at Gwalior. The State IT Centre became functional at Bhopal. Besides, lands were allotted to three IT majors- Infosys, TCS and Impetus at Indore. The Global Investors Summit held at Indore in October last saw inking of 47 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for investment of Rs. 3 thousand crore in IT sector. With these achievements Madhya Pradesh is now poised to emerge as Central India’s largest IT destination.
The State IT Centre started functioning in a unique well-equipped building constructed at a cost of Rs. 60 crore. The State Data Centre here has provided shared, reliable and secure infrastructure facility for e-governance applications management and hosting facility to the state government and its corporations and boards. The Centre has also made available the facilities of data maintenance, safe data management in conformation to the international norms, continuous connectivity and expert services.
The Crystal Park built at a cost of Rs. 150 crore has been accorded the status of a SEZ. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and services the Park would throw open direct jobs to over 5 thousand IT professionals. It is a landmark towards establishment of software companies. At present three IT companies including M/s Impetus InfoTech India Limited, M/s Cleartreil Technology Private Limited and M/s Intelinks Technology Private Limited have invested over Rs. 285 lakh in this SEZ.
October last saw the inauguration of IT Park at Gwalior. Being developed on over one lakh square feet the Park has already attracted Ideal Cellular Limited which is developing a switch maintenance centre over 7,500 square feet.
Impetus has been allotted 25 acre, TCS 100 acre and Infosys 30 acre land in the IT SEZ at Indore. These companies would invest over Rs. 3 thousand crore in next five years, providing direct jobs to 13 thousand IT and ITeS professionals and indirect jobs to another 32 thousand people. It has been made mandatory for all these three IT majors to provide at least 100 jobs per acre to IT professionals.
The Global Investors Summit held in October last at Indore saw the signing of 47 MoUs for investment of Rs. 3 thousand crore in IT sector.
