Word war between BJP and Congress

NEWDELHI: BJP president Nitin Gadkari denied allegations that he was involved with corporate lobbyist Niira Radia. He said, “My name has been dragged in. I never saw her (Niira Radia) and I have never known her. Trying to hide their failures, the Congress leaders are hurling such wild allegations at the BJP. Let them come out with facts.”

Gadkari also demanded resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the scams that have come to light. Today Gadkari said that Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi must take moral responsibility for the string of scams, such as the 2G Spectrum scam, Adarsh housing scam and CWG.

Rajiv Pratap Rudy later said Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi should not have accused BJP patriarch L K Advani of involvement with Nira Radia.

He said, “The Congress is in deep frustration. As a result, its leaders are making all kinds of baseless allegations against the BJP.” Rudy said Advani attended no function connected with Niira Radia, but of Pejawar Mutt Swami Visveswara Theertha.

Referring to the Congress spokesman’s charge on foreign bank accounts, Rudy reminded the Prime Minister of his promise to retrieve black money within 100 days of being voted back in 2009.

Rudy also doubted on the delay in raids against A Raja former telecom minister and Suresh Kalmadi. It was significant as both maintained that the Prime Minister was kept informed all along.
