After Deepika Padukone, Mulayam Singh Yadav’s bahu Aparna dances to ‘Padmavati’ tune upsetting fringe groups

New Delhi: A video of Aparna Yadav, daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, dancing to the tune of song ‘ghoomar’ of controversial unreleased movie ‘Padmavati’ has gone viral upsetting various fringe groups.

Wife of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s younger son Prateek Yadav was reportedly giving a performance at the engagement ceremony of her brother at a five-star hotel in Lucknow.

The video has upset the fringe groups that say it is “shameful if someone is dancing to such controversial tunes”. “You are trying to upset us with this act, it will be better if you do not do it.”

The Shree Rajput Karni Sena, an organisation of the Rajput community, has urged a nationwide ban on ‘Padmavati’. Few states have even announced that they will not release the film in their states.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmavati” has been mired in controversy since its shooting started. Activists of the Karni Sena, besides other groups, have been protesting against the movie, claiming the film “distorts” historical facts. The release of the movie, earlier scheduled for December 1, has been deferred.
