Talks should be held with genuine investors: Nath

BHOPAL: Interaction should be done with real and potential investors who have genuine interest in investment in the state, said Chief Minister Kamal Nath.Nath made the above statement at Mantralaya where he was reviewing the nature and preparations for the proposed investment summit in October.

It is not enough only to draft investment related schemes and to hold summit just for the sake of publicity, because there is a need to focus on the proper use of state’s funds, time of officials, energy and its outcome, Nath said. The Chief Minister said authentic investors would be identified by organising dialogue sessions before the investors’ summit.

He said that new areas of investment like pharmaceutical research and artificial intelligence should also be considered.
He said that in the new age of GST, focus must be on the priorities of investors too, and that instead of making an estimate of investment, the issue has to be taken forward on a solid ground.
It was told that the amount invested by the investors in many previous investor summits was not as promised by them.
