Team Anna’s health worsens, as anshan enters eighth day
New Delhi: Concerns mounted over anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare and his team member Arvind Kejrival, Gopal Rai’s health as his indefinite fast entered the eighth day on Wednesday even as government continued to remain adamant on discussing Lokpal Bill in the Parliament.
Meanwhile, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal has warned the government against arresting or force-feeding him.
The health of Kejriwal, who has been on an indefinite fast since July 25 at Jantar Mantar here along with Gopal Rai, has deteriorated and doctors had on Tuesday advised both to shift to hospital.
The two have however refused to do so.
According to doctors, both activists have elevated ketone levels, which could affect their vital organs. In fact, Rai’s ketone level has already entered the danger zone and he has been vomiting frequently.
Kejriwal, however, was unrelenting. He said: “I am warning the government not to try to arrest and hospitalise us. The consequences of such action will be bad.”
Meanwhile, Anna Hazare today chaired a meeting of the core group to discuss several issues, including Kejriwal and Rai’s health condition.
The government’s stand that it would not hold any more talks with Team Anna also came up for discussion.
