Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa supporting Modi

AHMEDABAD: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa supporting the Narendra Modi’s fast. Also she is sending party MP Maitreyan and another leader Thambidurai to Ahmedabad to join Modi when he begins his fast on Saturday.

The Congress is also trying to catch up with Modi on fast, with senior Congress leader Shankarsinh Vaghela having decided to go on a fast from too from Saturday.

Congress has decided to stage the fast at a pavement outside Sabarmati Ashram, while the Gujarat chief minister will hold his fast in the air-conditioned exhibition hall of Gujarat University.

Prominent social activist Mallika Sarabhai has accused Modi of wasting public money. About Rs 36 lakh will be spent on Modi’s so Congress is also calling it a “5-star” fast.

Due to the Modi’s fast the organizers of an international pharmaceutical exhibition has to change their venue. The organisers had booked the hall for the exhibition for three days from Saturday.
