Railway ticket collector beaten by passengers

A ticket collector was beaten up in the train by the passengers during ticket checking in the Howrah – Mumbai mail coming from Katni, in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the Government Railway Police, ticket collector Vinay Rajak was beaten up by two passengers Lalji Patel and Summit Patel during ticket checking.

The passengers boarded in the train coming from Katni were travelling in the sleeper coach of the railway on general ticket, the police said.

The dispute took place when the checking staff told the passengers to pay the penalty for travelling sleeper coach on general ticket, the police said.
