Rs. 600 enough to run a family of six people: Sheila Dikshit

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit thinks that Rs 600 a month is enough for running a family of six people. Her apathetic attitude towards the grievances of the common people is quite clear from this statement.  In other words, the Chief Minister believes that Rs 4 a day is enough for a person to survive in Delhi.
Delhi government’s Anna Shree Yojna was launched on Saturday. Under the scheme, the needy families will be given Rs 600 a month to buy food for them. The amount will be transferred directly in the account of the female member of the family. The scheme is going to benefit nearly 25 lakh people.

However, some of the people who are going to avail the benefits under this scheme strongly objected her remarks.

“For a family of five to seven people, the expenditure on buying food grains is between Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000. How can a family head meet his family’s needs in just Rs 600,” said Ganga Devi, a slum dweller of West Delhi.
