Rebellious Sadhu Yadav Faces Lalu Ire

Rebelling against his brother-in-law and mentor Lalu Prasad, RJD parliamentarian from Gopalganj Sadhu Yadav on Monday said the RJD chief had ‘knelt down’ before the LJP and unveiled plans to contest two Lok Sabha segments handed over to the LJP.

“I am a sitting MP and have been winning elections. Prakash Jha was nothing but has been given a ticket from Betiah seat even as he had lost in the last election. This shows that Lalu Prasad has knelt down before Ram Vilas Paswan,” Yadav was quoted as saying by PTI.

Not one to take things lying down, Lalu immediately reacted to Yadav’s outbursts and said: “Whoever revolts in my party and shows disrespect to the party’s decision will be removed from the party. You may treat such people as out of the party.”

Yadav is unlikely to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls as an RJD candidate as his Gopalganj seat has been reserved.

Noted film maker Prakash Jha of LJP has earned a party ticket from Betiah constituency after the RJD and LJP finalized a seazt sharing agreement late on Monday.

Sadhu Yadav also announced plans to contest the forthcoming elections from the Betiah and Motihari constituencies.

Ending a deadlock, the RJD and LJP finalized a seat sharing pact late last night, as per the new arrangement, the RJD will contest 25 of Bihar’s 40 LS segments while LJP will field candidates in 12 leaving the remaining three seats for the Congress.

In 2004, the RJD had contested 26 seats while the LJP fought eight constituencies.
