Railway budget 2011 in parliament today

Today Railway minister Mamata Banerjee is presenting Rail budget 2011-2012 in Parliament.

The minister said, to meet the demand for coaches, rail based industries will be set up under Vision 2020.
First coach from the new rail factory at Rae Bareli will be rolled out in next three months, said Banerjee presenting the 2011-12 railway budget.

Railways will set up a bridge factory in Jammu and Kashmir considering need for large number of bridges on railway projects in the state.

Fifty six new trains to be introduced in which three new Shatabdi trains to be introduced. New Duronto to be introduced, frequency of existing durontos to be increased.

Super AC and double decker trains to be introduced.

Multipurpose smart card to be introduced for long distance travelling purpose.

Reconstructing of railway cadre proposed.

Persons aged 58 and above are eligible to get senior citizen concession.

Anti collision device to be set up for people safety reasons. Four railway zones to be use this device for now.
