Pak Agrees to Hold Talks on Feb 25

Foreign secretary level talks with India and Pakistan is likely to be held on February 25, reported IANS.

According to Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani’s office, Pakistan has agreed to India’s proposal to conduct talks at foreign secretary level on 25th of this month, said report.

Pakistan daily ‘The News’ said that the decision in the regard was taking in a meeting conducted in Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Friday.

The meeting, chaired by Gilani, reviewed a range of issues, including Kashmir and was attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Kashmir Committee chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir, said report.

Report said that Bashir would meet his Indian counterpart Nirupama Rao in New Delhi.

However, Indian side did not confirm the dates saying that they were yet to receive any formal announcement from Pakistan, reported IANS.

India suspended a peace process with Pakistan after the November 2008 Mumbai attacks blamed by New Delhi on Pakistan-based terror outfits.
