Nirupama Pathak Was Murdered: Forensic Reports
Officials of the forensic department who are investigating the mysterious death of Delhi journalist Nirupama Pathak have indicated in their report that she was killed, said media reports.
Pathak, 29, suspected to have been a victim of honour killing, was found dead at her home in Jharkhand’s Koderma district April 29.
On May 9, a senior forensic expert from AIIMS had pointed out discrepancies in scribe’s autopsy report and sought constitution of a medical board for further investigation.
Soon after her post mortem, her mother was taken into custody as post mortem reports revealed that Nirupama died due to smothering.
The mother was released on a three-day parole on May 9 to attend the last rites of her daughter.
Nirupama’s boyfriend Priyabhanshu, who was charged with rape and abetment to suicide, has now moved the High Court asking for a CBI inquiry into her death.
Priyabhanshu, a journalist, has also accused the police of tampering with evidence in the case.
