Narendra Modi likely to head BJP’s campaign committee

New Delhi: In the backdrop of chorus for declaring its Prime Ministerial candidate, the BJP is likely to make Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi the head of its campaign committee for 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
BJP president Rajnath Singh on Monday said thatNarendra Modi will be given a major role for the upcoming general elections. Modi is the most popular leader of the BJP, Singh added. He also said that the decision on party’s Prime Ministerial candidate will be taken at the national executive meeting scheduled to be held on March 1.
As per the sources, BJP has decided to capitalize on Modi’s clean image and good governance. It has also taken the consent of RSS in this regard.
Meanwhile, an announcement to this effect is expected to be made by the party during the proposed national executive and national council meetings scheduled to be held early next month.
The BJP strategists believe that the party will benefit manifold if they are able to project Modi’s good governance among the people.

The BJP’s national executive and national council is scheduled to meet on March 1. There are enough chances of Modi being declared as the President of BJP’s campaign committee for 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
