Nalini Shifted from Vellor Prison to Puzhal Jail

Serving lifer in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, Nalini Sriharan has been moved from Vellore prison to Puzhal jail in the suburbs of Chennai after she complained of harassment by jail authorities, said media reports.

According to reports, she was shifted from high security Vellore prison to Puzhal amid tight security, reports said.

Earlier this month, she had complained of harassment by jail authorities and later alleged that she had life threat and that jail authorities assaulted her.

In letters to the ADGP Prisons, Dr KR Shyamsundar, she had also alleged that attempts were being made to poison her food.

After she levelled the allegations, the Tamil Nadu Government had appointed a committee headed by a top prison official to look into them.
