Monsoon Session Begins Today!
With just a few hours to go for the commencement of the Monsoon session of parliament, the opposition seemed united over the issue of petro-price hike, which they say has triggered a further spiral in already high food prices.
Apart from the hike in prices, the opposition would also target the government over its Pakistan policy and the recent controversy surrounding the arrest of Gujarat MoS Home, Amit Shah, by the CBI.
The BJP is also likely to corner the government over the issue of compensation to Bhopal Gas Tragedy victims and also embarrass it by asking pointed questions over the release of then Union Carbide Corporation chief Warren Anderson.
While the government has said it is willing to discuss all issues, Opposition parties which seem united over price-rise are likely to fall back on their own agendas, ideologies and future plans on all other issues, allowing the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) to avoid any serious trouble with relative ease.
