Manmohan-Gilani Meeting Cannot Not Be Ruled out during SAARC Summit: Krishna

External Affairs Minister SM Krishna has said that the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani in Thimphu cannot be ruled out, said media reports.

“I am not ruling it out,” Krishna was quoted as saying. He made the remarks while answering a query if Singh will meet Gilani during his visit in Thimphu for the SAARC summit to be held on April 28 to 29.

The minister said that there would be a number of bilateral meetings during the period when heads of states and governments would be under the same roof for a couple of days of the multilateral meeting, reports said.

“Let’s wait and watch, how things are going to work out,” he was quoted as saying, adding, “all bilateral issues between India and Pakistan will be discussed as and when the Prime Ministers meet.”

In response to another question about Pakistan’s request for seeking the testimony of the Indian magistrates who recorded the confessional statement of Mumbai attack accused Ajmal Kasab, he said that he was yet to examine the matter, said reports.
