Kingfisher pilots on strike again, 4 Mumbai flight cancels

Mumbai: Angry over non payment of their salaries, King Fisher Pilots gone to indefinite strike on Tuesday. Four Kingfisher flights have been cancelled in Mumbai after pilots this decision.

“Mumbai-based pilots have decided to go on a strike from Wednesday onwards due to management’s failure to keep its commitment on March salary payment,” a source in the airline told here tonight.

The proposed strike by a section of pilots could hamper the private airline’s flight schedule “in a big way”, he said.

Kingfisher, facing severe fund crunch, has not paid salaries to most of its employees, including pilots and engineers, since March this year.

This is the second time in the last ten days that the pilots have decided to stay away from work over non-payment of salaries.

The Vijay Mallya-led carrier, which is currently operating around 100 flights per day, has most of its operations from Mumbai and Delhi after the airline reduced the number of flights to almost one fourth in the wake of financial crunch.
