KCR wants son as CM, BJP only alternative: Amit Shah

KARIMNAGAR: Charging that TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao opted for early Assembly elections because he feared a Modi wave , if held as per schedule in May, 2019, BJP national president Amit Shah has said the TRS government completely failed in fulfilling its promises.
“KCR made as many as 150 promises during the 2014 elections, but none of them were fulfilled in the past four-and half years,” Shah said. Besides, nearly 4,500 farmers committed suicide in Telangana, the highest in the country.

“KCR promised to make a Dalit chief minister of Telangana before 2014 elections. But after TRS came to power, no Dalit was made CM and this time too, Dalits would not get the chance to become CM. He wants to make his son or daughter chief minister,” Amit Shah said. “Am asking KCR from this dais why did you choose to go to polls nine months before the schedule and put a huge financial burden on the people,” he said.
Addressing a well-attended public meeting at Ambedkar grounds in Karimnagar on Wednesday, the BJP chief said neither KCR family nor ‘Rahul Baba’ company developed Telangana. “If BJP is given an opportunity, it would develop the state on the lines of other BJP-ruled states,” he added. He said it was not Congress or TDP, but only BJP that was an alternative to TRS and MIM in the state.

He said the TRS government proposed to give 12% reservations to minorities only to appease Muslims. “But, as per the Supreme Court ruling, reservations cannot cross 50%. Unless other quotas are cut, the 12 % reservations are not possible. Am asking KCR, do you want to cut the reservation quota of SCs, STs or BCs?” he said.
Shah said due to fear of MIM and electoral gains, the TRS government did not observe Telangana Liberation Day on September 17. He announced that BJP after coming to power would celebrate September 17 in all districts of Telangana.

The BJP president said: “When former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee passed away, NDA government performed his last rites with full state honours. But when Telugu pride and former PM PV Narasimha Rao passed away, Congress did not allow his funeral in Delhi and his body was not even kept at AICC office.”
According to him, the opposition was not cooperating on identifying illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, but the NDA government would go ahead with NRC in 2019.
