Jabalpur to be projected as ‘mega circuit’ on tourism map

Bhopal: Jabalpur will be projected as “mega circuit”. Katni, Mandla, Shahdol, Seoni and Amarkantak will also be developed. The Union Government has sanctioned Rs. 50 crore against the proposal sent for this by Madhya Pradesh government. This amount has been sanctioned under Infrastructure Development for Destination and Circuit Scheme. Under the project, tourist facilities will be increased in Jabalpur, Katni, Mandla, Shahdol, Seoni and Amarkantak. Facilities to ensure access of disabled persons will also be developed at these places. Principal Secretary Tourism has been appointed nodal officer for the project. The Principal Secretary will undertake monitoring of development works carried out Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation under the project from time to time.
Rs. 114 lakh have been sanctioned for construction of tourism facilitation centre at Jabalpur, Rs. 122 lakh for increasing facilities at Sangram Sagar, Rs. 102 lakh for development of Tilwara Ghat, Rs. 137 lakh for development Gandhi Memorial Park, Rs. 277 lakh for laser show, Rs. 77 lakh for development of Dumna Park, Rs. 69 lakh for development works at Bhedaghat, Rs. 200 lakh for light and sound show and Rs. 417 lakh have been sanctioned for development of adventure sports centre at Bargi.
A sum of Rs. 139 lakh has been sanctioned for facilitation centre in Katni district, Rs. 316 lakh for development of heritage site Roopnath, Bilheri, Vijayraghogarh and Jhinjhri, Rs. 66 lakh for Indian’s central point Karaundi and Rs. 120 lakh for development of Pir Baba Mazar and Kaimoor valley.
Similarly, Rs. 121 lakh have been sanctioned for hot water spring in Mandla district, Rs. 124 lakh for Columnar Baselite Hillock, Rs. 160 lakh for development of Moti Mahal and Begum Mahal, Rs. 304 lakh for Rangrez, Kachheri and Dharmshala Ghat, Rs. 104 for Devgaon, Rs. 110 lakh for facilitation centre, Rs. 104 lakh for Sahastradhara Ghat and Rs. 300 lakh has been sanctioned for development of Rapta Ghat.
In Dindori district, a sum of Rs. 132 lakh has been sanctioned for development for Baiga Chowk and Rs. 128 lakh for T.R.C.. Similarly in Shahdol district, Rs. 31 lakh have been sanctioned for development of Virateshwar temple complex, Rs. 216 lakh for beautification of lake in Seoni district, Rs. 105 lakh for development of Sonmudh, Kapildhara and Kabeer Chabutra at Amarkantak, Rs. 132 lakh for Caravan Parking and Rs. 465 have been sanctioned for increasing wayside facilities.
