Headley Not Sticking Point in Indo-US Ties: Obama Administration

A top US official has denied that Lashkar operative and Mumbai terror attacks suspect David Coleman Headely has lately become a stumbling block in Indo-US relationship, said media reports.

“I don’t think it’s a sticking point. I think that we’ve got a good dialogue and I think we’ll work out a way forward,” Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Robert Blake was quoted as saying while talking to reporters.

“We are very pleased that the United States and India have been able to cooperate very closely on this critical and very complex issue.

“We continue to work very hard with our Indian counterparts to move forward on that. But I don’t have anything more to say,” Blake was quoted as saying.

“I am not in a position to,” Blake said responding to a query if the US is going to give India access to Headley.

Indian investigating authorities have been seeking access to Headley so that they could interrogate him on his role in the Mumbai terrorist attack, that killed more than 160 people in November 2008.
