Hearing of Arushi case was adjourned till Feb 29

NEW DELHI: The Ghaziabad court has adjourned the hearing of Aarushi murder case on Saturday till February 29. The Talwar couple did not attend the court hearing on Saturday.

According to sources, the counsel for the parents of Arushi- Dr Rajesh and Nupur Talwar who were the prime accused in their 14-year-old daughter’s murder had moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of their case from Ghaziabad to Delhi.

Their lawyer Tamta said that his clients feared a threat to their lives.

But the CBI argued that they should have been present during the hearing as the apex court did not exempt them from Ghaziabad to Delhi.

On 16th May, 2008 Aarushi was found dead with her throat slit at her Noida residence and the body of the Talwars’ domestic employee Hemraj, who too was murdered, was found on the terrace of their house the next day.

Both the parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were named the prime accused in the murder of their 14-year-old daughter.
