Former Haryana Cop Gets Bail in Molestation Case

Haryana IPS officer MS Ahlawat has been granted bail in a case of allegedly molesting a woman lawyer in 2002, said media reports.

Ahlawat, who was SP in Yamunanagar at the time of incident, has been missing since last fortnight when a case of molestation was registered against him.

Woman lawyer who registered case against him said that the Haryana police declined to lodge the case against Ahlawat.

She finally took resort to a hunger strike in front of the office of the Deputy-General of Police (DGP), which embarrassed the police into accepting her complaint.

When Ahlawat allegedly molested her, SPS Rathore was the head of the Haryana Police.

Rathore had himself been accused of molesting a 14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra.   A complaint against him was filed in 1990. No action was taken against him and

Ahlawat retired as Inspector-General.
