Corcom boycotts PM Narendra Modi’s visit and calls for shutdown on Friday

GUWAHATI: Coordinating Committee (CorCom) of four militant organisations in Manipur has called for state-wide shutdown on Friday, the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting the state.

Boycotting Modi’s visit, CorCom called for total shutdown from 1am of Friday till Modi leaves Manipur.

PM Narendra Modi will lay foundation stone of several projects besides inaugurating the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Moreh.

A statement issued by CorCom stated there is nothing to dream about bringing good things by the people of Manipur for them during Modi’s visit. “As done earlier, his (PM) visit is to strengthen their (New Delhi) rule and to spread the message to the world that Manipur is an integral part of India.Manipur today has been losing largely since it has been occupied by New Delhi.”

The statement also accused New Delhi of attempting to destabilize the collective revolutionary movement to restore Manipur’s past sovereignty by playing divide and rule policy and triggering artificial conflicts among different ethnic communities in Manipur.

PM Modi will address a public rally in Assam’s Silchar on January 4. This will start party’s poll preparation for 2019 Lok Sabha election.
