New Delhi: With the Congress on the back foot after facing a string of electoral defeats since Lok Sabha polls, its highest decision-making body Congress Working Committee will meet here on Tuesday to chalk out its political strategy.
The meeting, which has been called to discuss “current political situation”, will also consider a blueprint for its agitational course in and outside Parliament on the controversial land Ordinance emerging, which seems to have emerged as as a rallying point for Opposition unity.
Amid speculation about the elevation of Rahul Gandhi as Congress president, party spokesperson Randip Surjewala said that the Congress vice president was “our leader even when he was general secretary”.
“You will be informed whenever the decision to appoint him or not him party President is taken as per the party Constitution,” he said.
