Blast at International Border in Jammu, Five BSF Jawans Injured

As many as five BSF jawans were wounded as a blast occurred near the International Border in Hiranagar area of Kathua district in Jammu division, said reports.

BSF officials said that the explosion took place at nearly 0915 hours on Saturday morning when a BSF party was patrolling and heading for border outpost of Mangu Chak in Hiranagar sector.

The officials said that five jawans were hurt in the incidence and admitted to a hospital at Samba.

It is still not known if the explosion took place because of an Improvised Explosive Device or a landmine.

Officials suspect that ultras might have been behind the blast, for the realignment of fencing is going on in the area.

It may be mentioned that on November 16, DIG BSF O P Tanwar was killed and two other jawans were injured in a powerful IED blast near the Indo-Pak border at Ballad Post in Samba sector of Jammu.
