Cabinet committee to speed up development of Morga-1 coal block

Bhopal: The state government has constituted a cabinet committee to speed up the development of Morga-1 coal block and to lay down the procedure for allocation and utilization of coal in the block. Besides, canceling the previous order the jurisdiction of the committee has been decided. The cabinet committee comprises water resources and environment minister Shri Jayant Malaiya, labour minister Shri Jagannath Singh and energy minister Shri Rajendra Shukla.
Secretary, energy is the secretary of the committee and the secretary, mineral resources is its additional the secretary.
Jurisdiction: The committee would fix the quantity of coal allocation from this block and la down the conditions for the same. It will consider the matter of allocating the remaining coal in addition to that mentioned in senior number “A” to private sector and will lay down the procedure, rules and terms for the same.
Similarly, the committee would determine the programme obtaining required legal sanctions for coal mining from Morga-1 coal block and will review its progress. Rules and terms for selection of mine developer and operator would also be framed for mining of coal from Morga-1 coal block.
Mineral resources development department would be the administrative department for the cabinet committee and energy department would be its facilitator. The committee would submit its report to the state government which would be placed before the cabinet committee by the administrative department for order.
