Highlighting truth responsibility of newspapers: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that highlighting truth is the responsibility of newspapers. Times of India is discharging this duty well for last 175 years. Candid presentation of news and fearless expression of views have been hallmark of Times of India. Besides, it has also maintained values of responsible journalism. New generation needs to be made aware. Shri Chouhan stated this while releasing edition of ToI at Indore today. Mayor Smt. Malini Goud, IDA Chairman Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLAs Shri Surdarshan Gupta and Shri Mahendra Hardia were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister congratulated Times of India on commencement of its Indore edition saying that the newspaper is witness to pre-Independence events. ToI has its own heritage. It has become an independent institution of journalism. Under such circumstances, society has more expectations from newspapers like Time of India. He hoped that its Indore edition will cater to all its traditions. ToI Group’s Shri Divakar Asthana, Shri Dwaipayan Bose, Principal Secretary Public Relations Shri S.K. Mishra and Commissioner Public Relations Shri Anupam Rajan were also present on the occasion. Later, the Chief Minister went round newspaper’s office.
