Bangladeshi Terror Groups Running Camps in India: Report

Chief of the banned Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen who was arrested in Dhaka in May, has confessed that Bangladeshi terror groups are running training camps actively in border district of India, said media reports.

Maulana Saidur Rehman Jafar, head of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen and one-time compatriot of Osama bin Laden, said that they have a full-fledged terror infrastructure running in India, reports said.

According to CNN-IBN, Saidur Rehman confessed that Jamaatul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) is active in three districts of West Bengal – Murshidabad, Malda and Nadia – and maintains terror training camps.

He said that there are nearly 100 full-time JMB cadres in these districts and that the JMB recruits come from the large concentration of Ahl-e-Hadis community and Sohal Mahfuz, the channel reported.

It further reported that a Shura Member of the JMB from Bangladesh has been infiltrated into India and is now leading the operations inside India, said report.

Saidur Rehman was actively involved with the radical Islamist political party – Jamaat-e-Islami.

Police in Dhaka have also found out that they were planning to carry out a major strike inside Bangladesh to eliminate top politicians, said report.

Indian intelligence sources say that the Jamaat-ul-Mujahidden was actively recruiting students from various Madrassas in the 3 districts in West Bengal, all on theBangladesh border, report said.

The big task now is to track all of them down, which is already proving to be a tough ask.
