Azam Khan Receives Six Years Expulsion Term from SP
The SP has expelled senior party leader, also a founder member, Mohammad Azam Khan for a term of six years for anti-party activities.
At a review meeting held earlier, SP candidates had opined that one of the factor causing fall in party’s total in just concluded parliamentary elections was the manner in which senior party leader Azam Khan went about dealing with Kalyan Singh factor.
It may be mentioned that the SP’s tally dropped to 24 seats from 37 in the last Lok Sabha.
On May 17, Azam Khan had resigned as the party’s general secretary and from its Parliamentary Board.
Khan, who was involved in a tussle with party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh on Jaya Prada’s candidature from Rampur, took the decision a day after the 47-year-old cine star won the Lok Sabha polls.
