At retirement salary was Rs 45000 but lived life king-sized : Former store keeper has assets of more than 10 crores; gold over Rs 45 lakh, Rs 21 lakh cash

The Lokayukta team was surprised to see the property of the retired store keeper of the health department. In the day-long raid, his assets worth about 10 crores have been revealed. The Lokayukta team has also recovered gold, jewelery and cash worth Rs 45 lakh from his locations in Bhopal and Lateri of Vidisha. The team of Lokayukta is also probing his more than 50 movable and immovable properties.

Ashfaq Ali was posted as store keeper in the Health Department in Rajgarh district. Retired in 2021. A complaint of disproportionate assets was lodged against him in the Lokayukta. In this connection, raids were conducted simultaneously on two houses of Ashfaq in Bhopal and the places of looters.

A bag full of notes was found from retired store keeper Ashfaq Ali’s house in Green Valley, Bhopal. A machine had to be called to count the notes. The interior of this house is like a five star hotel. Its cost has been estimated at Rs 2 crore. The retired store keeper on a salary of 45 thousand rupees has a chic look like billionaire businessman Mukesh Ambani.

Information of more than 16 immovable properties has been revealed in the name of Ashfaq Ali’s family members. Papers have been found to buy immovable properties worth crores of rupees in the names of Ashfaq Ali, his sons Zeeshan Ali, Shariq Ali, daughter Hina Kausar and wife Rashida Bi. The Lokayukta team is closely examining these documents.

In the action so far, information has been received that there are four buildings in the name of Ashfaq and his family members in Lateri of Vidisha. These include a 14000 square feet shopping complex under construction on Anandapur Road and a three-storey building named Mustaq Manzil with a luxurious house of about 2500 square feet on about 1 acre of land. Private school is running on rent in Mustaq Manzil. A private school was also operated in Vidisha in a three-storey building.

 

Lokayukta DSP Virendra Singh told that retired store keeper Ashfaq Khan lives in Bhopal. There are also buildings in his backyard. A lot of property documents have been found during the raid operation. According to the preliminary assessment, there is information about total assets worth Rs 10 crore in Bhopal and Lateri. At present, it is being investigated.
