Measurement of spiritualism not possible

Bhopal: There is no apparatus to measure quantum of spiritualism. It can only be experienced and not measured. This was stated by Vice Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University, Kolkata Swami Atmapriyananda while addressing the concluding session on ‘Science and Spiritualism’. The concluding session ‘Vedanta and Modern Physics’ of the 3-day ideological seminar was presided over by former ISRO Chairman Dr. Madhavan Nair.

Swami Atmapriyananda said that meaning of spiritualism is ascent of the human being to highest planes of spiritualism. He said that scientist Einstein’s theory of relativity has changed thinking of entire world. Global thinking is needed to understand relation between science and spiritualism. He said that in Vedas, mind has been described as matter. Our mind is totally dependent on diet. Spiritualism can be experienced by mixing Indian and Western like we mix rice and pulse to cook Khichadi.

Dwelling on various aspects of Vedanta, Swami Atmapriyananda made interesting interpretations of research in modern physics. He said that a spider knits its web with the help of a liquid in its body, which is an unparalleled natural art. But no one knows as to how spider does it. In modern physics, nature has been described as beautiful in which one can witness ‘Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram’. Swamiji said that definitions of physics’ interpretations do not come from outside, but emerge through inner studies. He said that Swami Vivekananda had said that science and spiritualism are complementary to each other.

Vedic knowledge more powerful than modern physics

Dr. Alex Henki from Swami Vivekananda Yoga and Research Centre, Bengaluru said that Vedic knowledge is more powerful than modern physic. Spiritualism has been described differently in East and West. ‘Biological organism’ is more complex than both. Discussing concept of complexity biology, he informed that teleportation is 7th sense of communication. He said that ‘New Model of Mind Body Collection’ gives opportunity to understand spiritualism closely.

Quest for truth objective of both spiritualism and science

Dr. Madhavan Nair said that there is a unique relation between spiritualism and science. Quest for truth is the objective of both. Modern science has led to modren rationale thinking and technology has opened new possibilities.

Director General of Madhya Pradesh Council for Science and Technology Prof. Pramod K. Verma said that ideological seminar has played important role in bringing science and spiritualism closer. It would be useful in realizing objective of Simhastha Mahaparv. Council’s Senior Principal Scientist Shri Tasleem Habib wrapped up the seminar. Mentor of Vigyan Bharti Shri Shankar Rao Tatwadi, Dr. H.R. Nagendra of Swami Vivekananda Yoga and Research Centre, Bengaluru and Vigyan Bharti’s National General Secretary Shri Jayant Sahastrabuddhe etc also attended the concluding session.
