Blast in Peshawar; Three Killed, 13 Injured
North Western Pakistani city of Peshwar was on Saturday rocked by a bomb explosion, killing at least three persons and injuring 13 others.
According to reports, the blast took place close to a KFC fast food restaurant in an area where many lawyers have their offices. The cause was, however, not known.
A local TV showed black smoke rising from a building and burning cars.
The explosion followed a militant attack on a mosque near army’s headquarters in Rawalpindi yesterday in which 35 people were killed.
Speaking about the Peshawar blast, the region’s information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said: “It seems that the explosives were planted in the car, and it exploded through a remote control.”
Several people were seen clinging to windows in one building that was on fire, shouting for help.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
