CM to hold meeting on ‘Prospects in AYUSH Sector’ today

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will hold a meeting on the ‘Prospects in AYUSH Sector’ on July 26 at Mantralaya from 3.30 pm.

A presentation and discussion on AYUSH-based economic upgradation scheme ‘Devaranya’ prepared mainly for the residents of scheduled tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh will be held in the meeting.

The meeting will be organised by the Madhya Pradesh State Policy and Planning Commission.

Under the scheme, more AYUSH-based activities will be taken up to increase employment and livelihood opportunities in tribal dominated areas. Under this, the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, industries based on them, drug manufacturing, storage, processing, marketing, promotion of rural and health tourism in tribal areas, empowerment of self-help groups, establishment of nurseries etc. will be undertaken.

This scheme will be run by the Department of AYUSH in collaboration with Union Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of AYUSH and National Medicinal Plants Board etc. in which MGNREGA and other schemes will be converged.

In the first phase, this scheme is proposed to be implemented in five districts of the State, including Satna, Jhabua, Betul, Hoshangabad and Dindori.
