Pak SC Rejects Pleas against Saeed’s Release from House Arrest

Pakistan Supreme Court has turned down pleas moved by the federal and Punjab governments challenging the release of Jammat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed from house arrest, said media reports.

India holds Saeed responsible for masterminding Mumbai terror attacks and claims to have provided enough evidence to Pakistani authorities to prove his involvement in the attacks.

Also, India has maintained that talks with Islamabad could be fruitful only if fugitives like underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Hafiz Saeed are caught and extradited to India.
