“Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan” to transform rural MP from April 14

Bhopal. ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ to change rural scenario of Madhya Pradesh will be launched on Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary April 14. The 45-day campaign for integrated development of villages will continue till May 31. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi would launch the country-wide ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ from Mhow, the birthplace of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar. On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the campaign has been given a greater shape in the state.

Through a video conferencing here today, the Chief Minister held detailed discussions on outlines of the campaign with district administration and public representatives. Describing it a campaign for total transformation of socio-economic condition of villages, he said that Madhya Pradesh and entire country will be transformed through the campaign with the cooperation and participation of all within next 2 years. He said that this is the best campaign for public service. In view of Simhastha-2016, Ujjain district has been exempted from the campaign. There the campaign would be conducted from June 1 to 30.

The Chief Minister said that address of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi would be directly telecast in all Gram Panchayats. Shri Chouhan asked all district collectors, heads of departments, senior officers and public representatives to work unitedly to make the campaign a success. No eligible beneficiary should remain deprived of government schemes’ benefit during this period. During video conferencing, the Chief Minister held discussions with public representatives of Shahdol, Agar-Malwa, Indore, Dindori, Mandla, Tikamgarh, Morena, Chhindwara, Rewa, Chhatarpur, Neemuch, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Sagar, Seoni, Ratlam, Hoshangabad, Bhopal and Dewas districts and elicited their suggestions.

Shri Chouhan said that maximum arrangements will be made in drinking water deficient districts. If required, drinking water would also be transported to crisis-ridden areas. He said that construction of minimum one water source should be undertaken in every village and available water resources should be renovated. Feasible and practical plans should be chalked out for development of villages. He said that he would himself take part in Special Gram Sabhas and Village Parliament during the campaign. He said that success of the campaign would depend on maximum participation of people in it.

Under the campaign, national, state and district level programmes will be held. National level campaign will be launched by the Prime Minister at Mhow. National convention of scheduled caste women Sarpanchs will be held at Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh on April 19. It would be participated by 100 women Sarpanchs from Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, National Gram Sabha Convention would be held on National Panchayat Day at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.

At state level, rural young entrepreneurs’ convention would be held in the first week of May. It would be participated by beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana and Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana. Youths aspiring to start self-employment would also take part in it.

In the second week of May, state level convention of women’s SHGs will be held. The Chief Minister has directed to cover every farmer under Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme. This scheme will be launched from May 1.

Special Gram Sabhas, Village Parliament will be held at Gram Panchayat level from April 15 to May 23. Gram Sabhas will be held for 3 days. On the first day, discussions would be held on development works, beneficiary oriented schemes on the second day and discussion to double farmers income would be held on the third day. For this, 22 thousand 624 Gram Panchayats have been divided into 2504 clusters. Every Janpad Panachayat would have 6 to 8 clusters. Three-day Village Parliament would be held in all Gram Panchayats. Teams of officers have been constituted and Nodal Officers appointed for every level. These officers have been trained at state, division, district and Janpad levels.
