More than two dozen people killed in Baghdad

BAGHDAD: At least 25 people killed in a series of bomb attacks that mostly targeted police in Baghdad, Iraqi officials said.

According to sources, most of the deaths occurred in a suicide car bombing outside a police station in central Baghdad, and another in the northern district of Hurriyah.

Officials say Wednesday’s bomb attacks also left dozens of people injured.

On Monday another string of explosions in Baghdad killed at least 10 people.

Violence in Iraq has fallen sharply since the height of sectarian fighting in 2006 and 2007, but bombings and shootings still occur regularly.
