Chen escapes house arrest
Beijing : China’s best dissidents Chen Guangcheng who was release from jail in 2010 and has been under house arrest since then escaped from it and release a video addressed to Premier Wen Jiabao.
The video was shot in a dark room and Boxun posted it online.
Boxun is a Chinese dissident news website based in the United States. In the video he has made three demands. It was still not clear where he was.
Some reports say that he is safe in Beijing. The Chinese authorities have got international criticism for the treatment of Chen.
In the video, Chen says: ”I may be free but my worries are for my family… my wife, my children, and my mother. Perhaps because of my leaving, they may become the target of more brutal abuse.”
Bob Fu, founder of ChinaAid, based in Texas in the US, told the BBC via email, “Now I can share with you Chen is now in the 100% safe location in Beijing. That’s how much I can share with you”.
