An explosive device was detonated by a suicide bomber as passengers arrived at Domodedovo airport’s international arrivals gate at 4:40 p.m. (13:40 GMT) on Monday, killing 31 people instantly.

The death toll later rose to 35 as one person died while being hospitalized and three succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
An emergencies ministry spokesman said, “86 people were hospitalized, 94 received out-patient treatment.”

“As of 23:00 Moscow time Monday [20:00 GMT], 128 people are listed as injured. 41 of them are in serious and critical condition,” – Russian Health Minister Tatyana Golikova said, adding that the casualty figures are very likely to rise.
