Godhan Yojana supporting dairy business: CM Baghel

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the Godhan Nyay Yojana is providing support to dairy business also.

People are very excited from the benefits of the scheme, he said, and added that people with dairy business say their income has increased due to the sale of cow dung, he said.

Many dairy farmers have started buying milch cows, building sheds as well as buying motorcycles to increase their dairy business with the extra income earned from selling cow dung, an official communication on Thursday quoted Baghel as saying.

Vishnu Prasad, who has a dairy business in Chirmiri, told the Chief Minister that he earned an additional profit of Rs 1.33 lakh by selling 650 quintals of cow dung. This helped him buy two milch cows, taking his cow tally to 17.

Shivcharan of Korea has bought two bullocks and a motorcycle in instalments with the Rs 48,000 he made by selling cow dung.

Gita Devi, a resident of Vishrampur, said she was building a new shed for cows with the money earned through the Godhan Nyay Yojana.

Baghel said the Yojana has given new life to cow rearing. Unregulated cattle grazing has ended in the state and this has ensured safety of crops.
