Accelerate pace of giving permanent electricity connections to farmers
Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan apprised himself of new scheme to convert temporary electricity connections of farmers to permanent connections. He said that the state government is committed to ensure larger interests of farmers.
A presentation of permanent electricity connections was given before CM Shri Chouhan by Energy Department officers. The Chief Minister said that every possible effort would be made to make agriculture profitable. Due to it, farmers will become prosperous. For this, he directed to accelerate pace of giving permanent electricity connections to farmers.
The meeting was informed that 4 lakh 48 thousand temporary connections have been provided. There are 22 lakh permanent connections in the state. Total 5 lakh temporary connections are to be connected to permanent one in coming years.
The meeting also discussed contribution of farmers etc. in permanent electricity connections. Besides, presentation of Central Government’s Uday Yojana was also given.
Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, ACS Finance Shri A.P. Shrivastava, ACS Forests Shri Deepak Khandekar, Principal Secretary Energy Shri I.C.P. Keshari, Principal Secretary Agriculture Shri Rajesh Rajora and Secretary to CM Shri Vivek Agrawal attended the meeting.
