Rajeev Sen reacts to reports of his sister Sushmita Sen unfollowing him on Instagram: ‘This news cracks me up’
Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen has constantly been in news for a few days after businessman Lalit Modi made their relationship public.
While several celebrities and fans congratulated them on social media, several users also trolled the ‘Aarya’ actress for her decision. She has been subjected to memes and jokes, with many implying she is with Lalit ‘for his money’.
There have also been reports stating that Sushmita has unfollowed her actor-brother Rajeev Sen on Instagram.
For the unawares, Rajeev’s personal life too has been making headlines recently. His marriage of three years to actress Charu Asopa hit a rocky patch. Rajeev has accused Charu of keeping him in the dark about her first marriage On the other hand, Charu said he knew about it and appreciated her for moving on in her life.
In an interview with ETimes, Rajeev reacted to reports of Sushmita unfollowing him on social media and supporting Charu. He clarified that the ‘Aarya’ actress never followed him on Instagram.
He also said that this piece of news ‘cracks him up’. “The only place she is following me is on Twitter and that, too, for long. The media is also claiming that my sister is following Charu and is thus, supporting her. All I can say is that my sister is smart enough to know where we stand and by now everyone has understood how simple my wife is, as she has mastered the art of playing the victim card,” he told the news publication.
Rajeev has also come out in support of Sushmita, who is being trolled for her decision to date Lalit Modi. The doting brother said that a lot has been said about his sister ‘negatively’ regarding her pictures with Modi. Calling Sushmita a ‘self-made woman’, Rajeev added that she knows her priorities, she is a ‘responsible mother’ and a ‘role model for many Indians’.
Sushmita was in a relationship with model Rohman Shawl, whom she met through Instagram in 2018, but broke up with him last year. She is a mother of two adopted daughters Renee and Alisah.
On the work front, Sushmita will next be seen in the third season of ‘Aarya’.
