Shah Rukh Khan recently bagged the ‘Best Actor’ award at Zee Cine Awards 2024 for his performance in ‘Jawan’. Upon receiving the award, the superstar shared a moving speech. SRK began by saying that it’s been 8–9 years that he hasn’t been validated with an award. He also quoted the famous ‘baap’ dialogue from the film, but with a twist.

SRK, who was at the Zee Cine Awards 2024, said during his award acceptance speech: “It’s been some time since I have got an award, 8-9 saal ho gaye (It’s been 8-9 years).” He then thanked his team for always being there by his side.”

The superstar added, “Ek choti si baat hai thodi personal hai, woh bhi bataunga. Kuch 4-5 saal pehle kuch filmein nahin chali toh main aisa bura sa maan gaya apne aap se. Fir maine filmein karna chod diya ghar baith gaya. Pizza banane lag gaya, roti banane laga. Bachchon ke saath khelne lag gaya. Fir 3-4 saal tak COVID beech mein aaya (There’s a small thing, a bit personal, I’ll share that too. About 4-5 years ago, when some of my films didn’t do well, I felt really bad about myself. Then I stopped doing films and started staying at home. I started making pizzas, making rotis, started playing with the kids. Then COVID came in between for about 3-4 years.”
