Baahubali 2 surpasses Dangal, creates 400 crore club

Mumbai: Ever since its release last month, SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 has been on a record-breaking spree. Hindi-dubbed version of the magnum opus has now crossed Rs 400 crore, beating Dangal, which had a lifetime collection of Rs 387.39 crore at the domestic box office.
Worldwide, Baahubali 2 has already crossed Rs 1250 crore, and is all set to enter the Rs 100 crore club in Tamil Nadu as well. In Kerala, the film made over Rs 50 crore, and continues to go strong, thanks to family audiences.
This week, there were two big Bollywood releases – Sarkar 3 and Meri Pyaari Bindu. However, their opening day collections have not been too impressive, and Baahubali 2 has continued its winning streak.
It remains to be seen in Baahubali 2’s Hindi version will start a Rs 500 crore club, or if its earnings will take a hit with the release of Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s Half Girlfriend next week.
Bahubali 2 earned Rs 245 crore net and Rs 141 crore net approximately in the first and second week, thus taking to a total grand collection to Rs 386 crore approximately in the Hindi version only.
However, Dangal crossed Rs 387.28 crore net in all languages but figure was surpassed by Bahubali 2 in five days flat. All languages collections till date for the second part of the film have been over Rs 775 crore net in India.
